I fell in love with several varieties doing this, and now know to look for them while in California and Vancouver, for instance. I do, though, always ask the Budmaster about any that I am not personally familiar with. A good Budmaster is like a good dentist- when it matters that much it's good to know you have a pro!
We LOVED our few days in Maastricht. Talk about history- and BEAUTY. Walk along and atop walls dating from 1150. Visit churches dating to the 1400's. Walk through streets where the width was determined by a Knight's ability to pass astride his mount whilst laying his lance across his lap. All this- and a coffeeshop tour to boot. Amsterdam will never leave your heart- and Maastricht will never leave your soul.
Maastricht is still a lovely city, housing many lucky souls able to call it home. Check out our photos. I am a complete amateur photographer, so please forgive- and imagine the pictures you'll be able to take! If I can get these, you can do better. Maastricht is stunning.
